In 2005 the efforts of the cellar were recognized by Spains most acclaimed wine author Mr. Jose Peñin, as well as Mr. John Radford (journalist for the Decanter wine magazine). The Decanter wine magazine included Parés Baltà amongst the 20 best upcoming wine cellars of Spain, while Jose Peñin ranked them amongst the top 30 spanish wine cellars.

Wine

The wine is a blend of xarel.lo, macabeo and parellada. Brut Nature means that no expedition liqueur and hencewith no un-natural sugar was added to the wine. The wine  therefore contains less than 4 g/L of residual sugar and is bone dry. It has a golden yellow colour with slight silver accents. It displays intense ripe fruit aromas and hints of brioche. In the mouth it is soft and balanced. Flavors from the ageing dominate, with light toast and hints from yeast. Long and complex finish.

Cellar

Caliboro is a project of Mr. Marone Cinzano who also owns the highly acclaimed cellar in Tuscany (Col d'Orcia). In the late XVI century the Cinzano family was already producing wine and spirits to supply the city of Torino, Italy, from the surrounding hills. Since then quality and innovation have characterized the successive generations of this family in wine making, such as the invention of new production methods for sparkling wine in the XIX century, that gave birth to the world known Asti Spumante.

What makes Erasmo a unique champion of chilean wines is a combination of intense luminosity from consecutive months of clear skies, fresh dry southerly winds that blow all through the warm seasons, yet just enough rainfall to allow dry farming.

Wine

With Erasmo 2005, the fifth version of this wine, the 7 years old vines planted in 1998 reach their balance and maturity.

Color: dark ruby red, with black cherry tones.

Bouquet: complex and intense with presence of black berries, spices and soft notes of fine oak.

Taste: Lively and bright red fruit. Sophisticated texture full of pointedly firm tannins.

Sweet

Tawny Port - Niepoort

Klet

Niepoort was once a small, high quality port lodge in Vila Nova. Then, in 1987 Dirk joined his father in the family business, and things began to change. They acquired two Quintas in the Douro, Nápoles and Carril, and in 1990 began making table wine.

Wine Spectator still writes highly about the ports of the house: 

"Niepoort is to vintage port what Krug is to champagne. They are both small houses in a world dominated by large competitors, but they are producing outstanding wines that very few can match."

Wine

To produce a fine balance and flavour Niepoort Tawny ages in oak casks for 3,5 years. Freshness, lightness and balance are the key elements of this wine. A Port easy to drink on any occasion. Tawny has a shiny bright colour and soft and sweet tannins.

Tawny port keeps well for several years, although the wine will not improve with age. It contains no sediment and need not be decanted.
