COMPANY PHILOSOPHY

The company is family owned and run by Stane and Tilen Terlep. We began to import wines as one of the first private wine importers in Slovenia in 1993.

The wines in our portfolio are selected with great care and attention to quality. We import european wines directly from the producers and wines from other continents are imported through exclusive agents.

We do not believe in importing bulk or low quality wines, however we are convinced that special wines with a good quality/price relation can contribute to the development of positive competition in Slovenia.  We are mostly focused on red dry wines, since we believe that Slovenia has not yet achieved its full potential in this niche.

This site has been set up to help end consumers as well as the trade to get to know our selection better and to discover new tastes, styles of wine and gather new positive experiences.

BRIEF CURRICULUM

Stanislav Terlep has been connected to the wine trade for quite some time. He started working at the Ljubljana wine fair when he was still a student and then gradually became  its prject manager at the age of 25. He managed both the Ljubljana wine fair and the Ljubljana wine tasting between 1980 and 1993. During this time the Ljubljana wine judging, as the only one outside the European Community, acquired the O.I.V. licence. The number of tasted samples in this wine competition never dropped below 1000 between 1980 and 1993.

Since 1993 Stane is the representative of one of the five largest trade fairs in Germany - the Munich International Trade Fair. Not to lose his connection to the wine business he decided to start a cooperation with Mr. Paul Robert Blom an agent for several wineries from the "New World" (company Schermer Wijnkopers) and an internationally renowned taster (Michelangelo, Zarcillo, Bruxelles...) from Holland. Among other titles Mr. Blom's company is also the official supplier of the Dutch royal Court. The cooperation was both sided, which is reflected in the fact that slovenian wines are now present in the portfolio of Schermer.
